Shaelyn is passionate about helping others cultivate the inner safety to embrace and express the fullness of who they are. Shaelyn holds her BA in Psychology and Women’s Studies from the University of Rhode Island. She earned her MA from Salve Regina University where she studied Holistic Counseling as well as earning her Certificate in Advanced Graduate Study in the Expressive and Creative Arts. Shaelyn blends mental health counseling, embodiment coaching, the expressive arts, somatic healing and attachment work to support people in reconnecting to their own inner wisdom. She utilizes a variety of psychotherapeutic modalities in her sessions in response to who she is serving. At the heart of her work is the belief that our relationship to self serves as the foundation for meaningful and intimate connection with others and the world around us. She serves as a guide on the healing journey helping clients develop inner resources and grow their capacity to meet the challenges of being a fully, feeling human being in the ever-changing world. Shaelyn is skilled at working with people navigating life transitions including pregnancy and the postpartum transition or those struggling with low self-esteem, perfectionism, anxiety, depression, relationship or family of origin issues, addictive patterns and trauma. Shaelyn brings a depth of knowledge and understanding around the socio-cultural and family conditions that lead so many people to disconnect from their bodies, their authenticity, their voice and their power. Shaelyn has post graduate training in dance therapy, The Mother Wound and rite of passage journey to mark significant life transitions.
