NATALIE MONAGHAN, LICSW

Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker & Founder
Natalie Monaghan, the founder of HAWK & hummingbird Holistic Healing, is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, previously the co-founder and Clinical Director of Be Collaborative Care, a holistic eating disorder recovery center in Providence, RI. Natalie utilizes a wide range of psychotherapeutic modalities originating from Gestalt and The Hakomi Method that allow her clients to build positive coping skills, enhance resiliency, and tap into deep emotions and vulnerabilities to create lasting change. At the heart of her approach are the principles of The Hakomi Method - Mindfulness, Nonviolence, Unity, Organicity and Mind-Body Integration – which have proven effective in healing what she calls, “disorders of disconnection.” Providing highly tailored and collaborative care, Natalie’s approach acknowledges the uniqueness of each client’s eating experience and allows them to reconnect to their innermost self, their longings and heart’s desires. Natalie’s noteworthy commitment to her clients’ growth and health is paramount as her goal is for her clients to feel deeply cared for and no longer alone in their challenges. For her clients, Natalie’s office space becomes a safe haven for their healing journey. Natalie welcomes adolescents and adults of all ages and genders, many of whom have found eating to be a recurring challenge. Natalie has deep expertise in anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and orthorexia. She also works with clients navigating depression, anxiety, OCD, and life transitions, including the transition to college and midlife transitions. Natalie particularly enjoys working with athletes, incorporating exercise into eating recovery and reestablishing a healthy relationship with one’s sport. She also helps parents better understand the inner experience of a child with an eating disorder in order to strengthen patterns of communication and foster supportive relationships.
